Doula, Birth sister & Birth partner,

I can be one or all of these things. I love supporting mothers and partners to experience as gentle and empowered birth as possible.

I have many years off experience watching people from different cultures and communities support their birthing mothers.

I have layers of skills that I can adapt and teach for your labour and birth: Massage, Rebozo, Biomechanics, Aromatherapy, Accupressure…

Your Birth Vision

Whatever your Birth plan , knowledge around birth, life experiences. We can talk about your hopes, fears and anything which can add to your personal unique Birth day. I can talk and show you massage , movement, breathing, rebozo, biomechanics, aromatherapy oils, ….. if you are wondering what on earth I am talking about don’t worry!! All the self-help is simple but can make a huge beneficial impact .

Dr Rachel Reed ( a midwife from Australia) recently wrote ‘ Medical Intervention is routinely applied to physiological labour creating risk …and the principles of supporting physiological birth are applied to medical birth creating risk.’ So you may be wondering how do we navigate all this information? I can support you to consider all your options and consider what might be right for you and your baby. I can provide podcasts, books, conversation, alternative holistic traditions that nurture you. We can consider different scenarios and think how you might adapt and choose what is right for you.

“knowledge about birth is empowering”

— you can make your decisions based on your own self-knowledge.

Feel free to contact me on 07484295235 and we can talk about your requirements.

It is impossible to know how long your labour will last but we know it can be anything from 1hr- to days.

I understand through supporting hundreds of births over the years that the EARLY PHASE of labour is often the toughest challenge mentally as well as physically for many parents . Particularly first time birthing mothers who are not sure of what to expect and also have never experienced their body working so hard before. Birthing a whole human is intense, wonderful, tough at times and life affirming.

EARLY LABOUR is the time that you are using all your self-care knowledge and those of your partner to ease yourself into the intense journey of labour and birth.

I have found that offering doula support at this time either face to face or on the phone can be tremendously helpful. It can help the birthing mother and partner pace themselves, know when to rest and when to use their energy reserves, reminders of relaxation techniques, massage, rebozo moves. Then I find that the parents often don’t need me to come into their birth space once their labour is established.

If you would like to discuss possible scenarios and costs , please get in touch.

I want you to have a positive supported birth experience no matter what path your birth takes and where or how you birth your baby.
